SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING
We have three types of solid hardwood flooring:
Dark, medium and light in colour.
They are all lacquered / prefinished to a very high quality. They
are all 110mm wide, we would not recommend any wider in
solid due to a higher chance of cupping. This width is the
“cover”. The lengths are random between 400mm and 1200mm
long in each pack. They are tongue and grooved on all four
sides.
An advantage of solid flooring over most engineered flooring is
that over time it can be sanded down, to look like new,
almost down to the tongue which gives about 6mm of depth to
play with.
For customers requiring larger quantities each pallet contains 52
packs and they are well packaged for transportation.
The
dark choice is Walnut.

The
medium choice is Oak in
Prime grade,
which has very few knots / unusual grain or our
Rustic grade which is more interesting to look at due to the knots
and strong variations in grain.

The
light choice is Birch
which is ideal for the more darker locations and may
suit a more modern environment.

ENGINEERED FLOORING

What is engineered flooring? As shown above it means there is a
top layer of real wood veneer glued to plywood or timber
strips to give greater stability and temperature durability.
The top real wood veneer can be sanded down later in the
life of the floor if required. Our engineered flooring shown
above has an added quality that it has a unique locking
tongue which requires no glue.
The engineered flooring shown has a 4mm top layer of real wood.
All are pre-lacquered. The real wood veneer sits on top of a 9mm
spruce timber core and 2mm spruce veneer base. Overall
thickness is 15mm. There are six pieces per pack and each
pack covers 2.71m2. The length per piece is 2200mm.
Advantages of engineered flooring include:
1.
A wider board is achievable which will not cup or twist,
these are 205mm wide (over 8”)
2.
The floor will be more stable to changes in temperature.
3.
Will withstand typical conservatory ranges in temperature.
4.
Will withstand under floor heating.
5.
It is easy to lay as no glue is required due to the locking
tongues and by virtue of being wider there are less pieces
per square metre to deal with.
The following collection is from our “exotic” range and has three
strips per piece.
1.
Merbau

2.
Walnut

3.
Iroko

4.
Jatoba

5.
